Synopsis:
After years of crusading in the Holy Land, Templar Behmen and his faithful companion, Felson, returning to Europe, disillusioned. While they aspire to a peaceful life, they discover their country ravaged by the plague and find themselves arrested by men of the Cardinal.
Accused of desertion, they face prison. They have no choice but to accept a strange mission. They must escort a mysterious young woman, named as a witch responsible for the epidemic to a distant place where she will be judged and will be charged where an ancestral ritual cleansing.
Through hostile lands and devastated by the disease in the wilderness, Behmen, Felson and others, embark on the most dangerous and most fascinating of all journeys. Then the eyes of Behmen, the young woman appears more like a scapegoat, strange things happen. All will soon discover the terrible forces that lie ahead.
